We consider ourselves lucky to live where we do.  Its peaceful as well as stunningly beautiful! 

Just stepping out of the door and seeing that view makes for a great location to share with our guests.

 

Located in Earlish, a scattered crofting township on the West side of the Trotternish Peninsula, we are just one mile away from the pretty village of Uig.  Here we have a vibrant pier with ferries arriving and departing to The Outer Hebrides.  Its a busy little hub with a visit-worthy supermarket & post office, there is a petrol station with shop & takeaway,   Skyes only protected woodland aligns the shore, plus you can visit (or take a dip if you dare) at the beautiful Rha Falls nearby.  Uig Pottery is by the pier and we even have a Brewery making the well known Skye Ales & Gin!  Uig has a pub & restaurants, The Ferry Inn and The Uig Hotel both serve great food, plus there are a couple of good cafes.  

 

We are just 14 miles north of Portree, the Islands' capital, great for a visit around some lovely local shops a host of good eateries and of course the pretty harbour to wander or take a boat trip to explore some Skye coastline.

Best of all, Abhaig is near to many 'must see' destinations on Skye such as The Fairy Glen which is easily within walking distance.  The jaw-dropping Quiraing is a short drive away, Rhuba Hunish, The Old Man of Storr & The Kilt Rock Waterfall are only a little further, all making for wonderful days out and hikes.  Its also fairly easy to get to other Skye highlights like The Fairy Pools, Neist Point and Dunvegan Castle.  These, plus many other of Skyes beauty spots are within a one hour drive from us.  We can give you ideas for your days out and how to maximise your time we have a supply of local maps and books to help too!
